Astara border is one of the most important Iranian customs; This border crossing, which is located inside the city of Astara and on the banks of the Astarachai border river, parallel to the two cities of the same name Astara in Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan, connects Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan through a bridge at the end of the Astarachai River. Astara border is the third active border in the field of export and import, the largest land customs in the north of the country, and one of the safest and busiest land borders in Iran and also the second source of income in Gilan province.
Through the passage, agricultural products, food, cement and plaster, detergents, chemical products, textiles and handicrafts, carpets and rugs, clothing, bags and shoes, construction materials, plastic products, industrial goods, mineral products and metal products to countries The Caucasus is exported to the Republic of Azerbaijan and Georgia, as well as Russia.


Arta Cement factories in Ardabil (62 km), Khazar (264 km) and Gilan Sabz (270 km) are the closest cement production units to the Astara border, respectively.
